| Kettering is a city located in Montgomery County, Ohio. It is the largest suburb of nearby Dayton with its 2000 census population at 57,502. The city is bordered by Dayton, Riverside, Oakwood, West Carrollton, Moraine, Centerville, Washington Township, Beavercreek and Sugarcreek Township. It is the home of the Kettering Medical Center as well as other nearby medical facilities including the Miami Valley Hospital and the Dayton Heart Hospital. It is serviced by and located close to the James M. Cox Dayton International Airport.

EDUCATION The Kettering City School District includes only one Kettering Fairmont High School, two middle schools and nine elementary schools. There are also several private schools providing education at elementary and middle school levels. Post-secondary education is available within Kettering including The Kettering College of Medical Arts which offers two-year and four-year degrees in nursing and several other disciplines, and nearby access to the University of Dayton (4 miles), the Sinclair Community College (5 miles), Wright State University's Main Campus (9 miles), and Miami University-Oxford Campus (40 miles).
RECREATION Kettering has great outdoor activity opportunities with 20 parks and Skate Plaza, a 40,000 square foot skateboard park, its creation assisted by Rob Dyrdek, a hometown professional skateboarder. Kettering is home to the Fraze Pavilion, an outdoor venue, and the James S. Trent Arena, located on the Fairmont High School campus, offering area seats for anything from concernts to championship sporting events.
